The first shipment of ethane from Marcellus shale wells to be exported from Sunoco Logistics’ Marcus Hook terminal reached Norway on Wednesday.
Swiss chemical company Ineos, which has a long-term deal to buy the natural gas liquid from Western Pennsylvania producers, announced the arrival at its petrochemical plant at Rafnes. The company, whose first ship left Pennsylvania on March 9, plans to run eight ships between Marcus Hook and Norway and Scotland.
Sunoco recently began moving the ethane on its Mariner East pipeline from Western Pennsylvania to the terminal south of Philadelphia.
